Palmer//Harding’s SS17 presentation on Saturday could be described in three words: romantic, relaxed and beautiful. The presentation took place at Tavistock Place as part of London Fashion Week.
“The world’s most perfect shirt makers” presented another collection based on the shirt as a raw material to be interpreted with a range of artistic influences and elements. Matthew King’s artwork was one of their main source of inspiration this season, and, as a result, the collection consists of long, oversized silhouettes, with asymmetric sleeves and contrasting fabric combinations with stripes being a strong theme.
The designers chose muted red, orange, sky blue, navy and cinnamon as the collection’s key colours and promoted the idea of summer layering with each look. These layers consisted of easy to wear fabrics like cotton poplin, creating ideal outfits for hot summer nights.
